When it comes to diet it really comes down to two things: 1. It works for you 2. You enjoy it. If you completely despise your diet and feel like you're suffering, chances are you're not going to stick to it. So even if you do make progress you're eventually going to fall off the wagon and all your hard work and suffering will be for nothing. 🙈 Maybe you love the flexibility of counting macros and it helps you stay on track, maybe you hate it and don't see it as something you can do long term. Or you may find you do well intuitively eating, or following a meal plan, doing intermittent fasting etc. I personally love counting macros, I've been doing it for 5 years and it's second nature to me now- it takes up practically no time and has worked better for me than anything else because you can see exactly what your intake is and if you're not seeing results it's SO easy to know what to change. I found what works best for me, so I'm sticking with it! I do recommend anyone try it out - even just for a bit to become more familiar with portion sizes that work for YOU. But at the end of the day when choosing your style of eating, make sure it is giving you sustainable results.
